Journey to the Moon

A personal project based on an interview with Neil Armstrong in 1969, visualizing the journey to the Moon.

The book starts at Launch Pad 3A at Cape Caneveral on July 16th 1969 at 12:23:00 UTC - the actual launch date. After 366 pages of blackness, on July 20th at 20:17:00 UTC at Mare Tranquiliatis on the Moon, Armstrong sets his first steps on the Moon and this is the location of the interview in the book.

After another 366 pages of blackness the book ends in the Pacific Ocean on July 24th at 11:51:00 UTC - the splashdown. The 366 pages before and after the interview represent the 362 570 km travelled from the Earth to the Moon. These 732 pages contain nothing but the time and the distance that increase in the first part of the book, and decrease until splashdown in the second part.
