Geo-Data Fusion Hackathon 2024

Event identity for the NL Space Campus

In June 2024, the first ever Geo-Data Fusion Hackathon kicked off at LEF Future Center organized by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Social Hackathon, NL Space Campus, Rijkswaterstaat and the Netherlands Space Office.

The hackathon is committed to using satellite data to address social issues and create a better future for all. It offered a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs, teams, startups, developers, data scientists and -architects, and social innovators, to come together and develop creative solutions using satellite data.

Void & Visual developed the visual event identity and provided visual elements that have been used throughout the event. The identity is based on geometric shapes to represent satellite data collection (‘tiling’). Each pattern represents one of the three main goals of the organizers:

  1. Redefining public spaces
  2. Optimizing offshore wind farms
  3. Improving soil quality

Although boxes may be the leading visual element, out-of-the-box-thinking was strongly encouraged, as with any hackathon.
